Paul Tagliabue: THE $8 MILLION DOLLAR MAN

10.20.12
As a tax-free, non-profit organization since 1966, the $9 billion dollar per year NFL is compelled to publicly report executive compensation to the IRS, which included for the year 2010, $11.6 million paid to current Commissioner Roger Goodell, $12.2 million went to NFL Network President Steve Bornstein, and $8.5 million was paid to former Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. Reportedly, Tagliabue’s recent NFL paydays are actually deferred compensation from his reign as commissioner. (It was in his role as commissioner, that Tagliabue hand-picked the controversial rheumatologist Dr. Elliot Pellman to head the NFL Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Committee in 1994, a position the joint and muscle specialist held for 13 years.)
